Controlling and Coercive Behaviour

A recent piece for staff, exploring the new legislation.

On 27th April we delivered an interactive piece on the new Controlling and Coercive Behaviour legislation for a multi-agency audience at Dartford Borough Council’s Domestic Abuse Awareness Day. The performance explored the types of behaviour which constitute controlling or coercive behaviour, it’s impact on victims, the dilemmas it may present for professionals and how agencies might work together to increase the likelihood of prosecutions, while supporting victims and their children. This moving and thought-provoking piece provided audience members with the opportunity to discuss practical interventions and strategies as well as engaging with the characters portrayed on an emotional level.
