We have partnered with Kate Iwi to deliver this one-day training event designed for social workers who are working with families who have experienced domestic abuse.
Kate is an expert in working with domestic abuse in the child protection context. She has 32 years experience as an international trainer, supervisor and author. She runs Positive Change in Tower Hamlets, providing interventions for fathers, mothers and children.
Safety Net combines keynote presentations and vivid performances, designed to bring theory to life, and will give delegates an insight into:
– Types of abuse
– Motivations of men who abuse
– The impact of abuse on women and children
– Social work assessment
– Engagement with perpetrators
– Engagement with survivors
– Engagement with children
