Inclusive Communities award announcement

to support and develop our work in Wolverhampton

All news

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been awarded a medium grant of £31995 from the Inclusive Communities Fund — a £9 million initiative inspired by the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

We will be working in partnership with SUIT, a peer led service for people with addictions, to develop creative and personal skills and strengthen their recovery journey. The project will include Fear of Flying, a Geese performance created with and for people in recovery, and working with SUIT clients to co-create their own performance. Their performance will highlight local creativity and incredible diversity of voice, experience and knowledge.
This project will continue to develop our work supporting artists and creativity in Wolverhampton.

The focus of the Inclusive Communities Fund is:

Empowering communities for positive change
Creating a lasting legacy for the West Midlands
Seeking to address inequalities across the region

It shares the four original core mission principles of the Commonwealth Games:

Bringing People together
Improving health and wellbeing
Helping the region to grow
Putting the region on the map
