Thanks to generous funding from City Bridge Foundation we are in the fantastic position of being able to deliver our Journeyman project in London prisons over the next five years.
Journeyman is a five-day groupwork programme for men in prison, identified as being at risk of suicide and / or self-harm. The focus of the project is to assist participants to find their own strategies to build resilience, hope, a positive sense of the future and a greater sense of well-being and self-efficacy. Each programme is delivered with up to eight prisoners identified as struggling with imprisonment, anxiety or depression, addiction issues, experience of self-harm or suicidal thoughts.
The first programmes will be delivered in partnership with the Safer Custody teams in HMP Pentonville and HMP Wormwood Scrubs.
“We are hugely excited to be working with the Geese Theatre Company at Wormwood Scrubs as part of our strategy for keeping men safe, building confidence and resilience, and reducing self-harm.”
Governor, HMP Wormwood Scrubs
“We’re excited to start working with Geese and hope we can create a space for the men that enables them to feel heard and valued.”
