We are thrilled to announce that we have been successful in securing Cultural Bridge Tier 2 funding for the continuation of our partnership with aufBruch Prison Theatre in Berlin.
This will support us to develop the work we started last year when we delivered our Tier 1 project. Whilst there are some clear differences in the work of Geese Theatre Company and aufBruch, our learning from the Tier 1 project also illustrated some interesting parallels. We are excited to have another opportunity to work alongside aufBruch colleagues both in prisons in Germany and in the UK. Our plan is to work with aufBruch to introduce the concept of mask into their work whilst they share with us their approach to working with scripts in a prison context. Project planning is underway with reciprocal visits happening in the Autumn and Winter. Watch this space to hear how the work progresses..
This project is funded by Cultural Bridge, which celebrates bilateral artistic partnerships between the UK and Germany through the collaboration between Arts Council England, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, British Council, Creative Scotland, Fonds Soziokultur, Goethe-Institut London and Wales Arts International / Arts Council of Wales.
