In this week’s news update, we hear from our Director of Funding and Partnerships, Ros, about the PACT Pioneer programme. Ros reflects on why she chose to apply to the programme and what she has since learned. PACT Pioneers are a “collective of individuals, organisations, and networks exploring how power can be shared and used more effectively in civil society in the UK.”
I applied for the opportunity to take part in the 4-day Pioneer programme this autumn, which was a timely opportunity for me to continue to engage with and explore anti-racism and leadership. The PACT programme looks at 4 key areas of learning – power, accountability, connection and trust. As a Company we are committed to anti-racism, but recognise that this work is ongoing and demanding.
Taking part gave me an essential space away from the ‘day to day’ and a really interesting and valuable cohort of colleagues from across charity, third sector and public sector organisations to continue sharing experiences and resources. I have brought learning back to the Senior Management Team and the wider Company and will continue to bring challenges and actions to our anti-racism work.
Geese is a signatory to the More than a Moment pledge and you can download our Anti-Racism Statement of Intent and Vision. We also have an Action Plan – a working document which details steps taken and future actions across a number of areas of our work – if you would like to see a copy of our Anti-Racism Action Plan then please get in touch and we will be happy to share it with you.
