Notes from the Work

Notes from the Work

About this series

All news

Notes from the Work is an occasional series of reflections from Geese Theatre Company. Some posts will emerge directly from our practice in prisons, probation and community settings. Others will explore questions facing the wider arts, justice and social change sectors.

These notes are not intended to be definitive statements or polished pieces of writing. They are opportunities to think aloud, share what we are noticing, and contribute to ongoing conversations about theatre, criminal justice and change.

Topics may include reflections on facilitation, applied theatre methodology, criminal justice reform, recovery, evaluation, organisational development, and the role of the arts in responding to complex social issues. Some posts will draw on nearly 40 years of Geese practice; others may be prompted by a recent project, a conversation, a publication, a piece of research, or a question that we’ve been thinking about for some time.

We don’t claim to have all the answers. These posts are offered in the spirit of curiosity, reflection and dialogue – sharing what we are learning from the work and the people we have the privilege to work alongside.
