Andy CEO/Artistic Director

Andy trained in Paris at the Lecoq School of Mime and Physical Theatre, joining Geese in 1997, and becoming Artistic Director in 2003. He manages the company and is responsible for overseeing the artistic integrity of the work, devising theatre performances and developing long-term partnerships with CJS organisations. Andy is currently the Vice Chair of the National Criminal Justice Arts Alliance and sits on the Women’s Prison Estate Advisory Board. He was appointed MBE in 2018 New Year Honours List for Services to the Arts in Criminal Justice.

I love observing participants move from sceptic to advocate within a session. The shift from ‘I’m not doing theatre’ to ‘can you come back every week’ usually occurs when people see how directly relevant this work can be to their life, their family and their future, and is one of the most satisfying aspects of an incredibly rewarding job.
