Give Geese This Christmas!

Keshena Bowie

Today we are launching our first ever Christmas campaign, aimed at supporting our work with vulnerable people in the community. Geese have been working in partnership with community organisations throughout 2015, delivering workshops and residencies with people who are homeless, people who are in recovery from substance misuse and women who have multiple and complex needs.

We need your help to continue this work in 2016. Please click here to read more about the campaign and how to donate. Also, thanks to Paypal and #givingtuesday, every donation of £5 or more made through Virgin Money Giving on 1-8 December using PayPal, will receive an extra 1% for the campaign!

‘For me the last two weeks have been inspirational. What a fantastic company of people, to give us an opportunity to have a voice and let go of the labels… It’s been great!’ Andy, Participant from Reach out Recovery, July 2015

A donation to our Christmas campaign would make an excellent alternative Christmas present or Secret Santa gift.

'Since I’ve been doing Geese my self esteem has grown like I had never dreamed. Geese is bringing out the best in me. I’m not one to talk out, but I feel I can as I enjoy it so much, it’s a warm and happy lesson that I’m enjoying, with a great group of ladies. I’m so happy that I’ve had the chance to take part. Thank you. Shame it’s only for 10 weeks' Participant on Forward women's course

Our drama and theatre techniques empower individuals to explore their own stories, develop new skills and make choices for positive change. Every penny raised will be used to continue our work with some of the most marginalised people in our community.

Team Geese in Training

Keshena Bowie

There is still time to join Team Geese and enter the Morrisons Great Birmingham Run to raise funds for our life-changing projects. This year's event takes place on Sunday 18 October and we are hoping that even more fund-raisers will join us on the streets of Birmingham for another great day!

The only obligation we ask of our runners is that they raise as much as they can and have fun! You do not need to attend training sessions, complete complicated joining forms or even run. You can walk, hop or even dress up as a goose and fly the course! In return you will receive a one-of-a-kind Team Geese vest, fun training, nutrition and play-list tips and an opportunity to meet the rest of the team for a post-race get-together.

If you are thinking of running a half marathon - or indeed any other personal challenge - and would like to support life-changing work with some of the UK's most vulnerable people, please contact

The Return of Team Geese

Keshena Bowie

Team Geese consists of company members, Board members, family and very special friends of Geese Theatre Company.  Formed last year, their first challenge was the Bupa Great Birmingham Run 2013 and the team raised over £2500 for local Geese projects.  This was then generously matched by Arts Council England's Catalyst funding and, with Gift Aid, totalled over £5300!

In addition to the great fundraising achievement, two Team Geese teams also placed first AND second in the Birmingham Business Challenge, small business, mixed teams category.  We think that makes us the fastest theatre company in the West Midlands but we welcome challengers.

This year the team has almost doubled and we are hoping to smash our times and our fundraising totals from last year.  Funds will not be matched this year so every £1 really will count and help Geese to deliver even more life-changing projects with some of the most vulnerable communities in Birmingham.
