Dangerous and Severe Personality Disorder Offenders
Geese Theatre Company has been invited to create a variety of projects specifically for this client group. Each commission is approached differently depending on the needs of the partner organisation, however all the projects utilise Geese's unique methodology and involve a combination of theatre performance and active drama based groupwork.
Since 2004 Geese's work with DSPD groups has included:
-
Staff workshops at three DSPD Clinical Forums in order to discuss with managers, therapists and clinicians ways in which theatre and drama can contribute to their work with DSPD offenders.
-
Presentation at an International Conference for people working with DSPD offenders.
-
Performances and workshops exploring the theme of "living in a secure environment" for The Peaks DSPD Unit at Rampton Special Hospital and The Dene Medium Secure Unit.
-
Performance and workshop exploring the differences between a prison regime and a therapeutic regime, and maintaining connections with family, for the Westage Unit at HMP Frankland.
-
A three day group work programme looking at self-esteem, self-efficacy and motivation at Arnold Lodge (medium secure PD unit in Leicestershire).
-
A regular groupwork input into a PD Sex Offender group delivered by the Bracton Centre in London.
-
-
Several staff training events in the use of theatre and drama with offenders for professionals working with personality disordered offenders.
