Whose Space?

The internet does not abuse people - people abuse people

This interactive and challenging performance utilises Geese's trademark metaphor of mask to explore how people can adopt a "second life" online. We discover that the way people chose to present online is not always how they actually are.

Whose Space? asks:

  • What do young people get from the internet?
  • What are some of the issues that parents and professionals need to consider when communicating with young people about internet safety?
  • What is an appropriate course of action when dealing with a young person that has been the victim of internet abuse?

The performance focuses on a young person's experience of internet abuse and examines the online grooming process. It invites the audience to consider how an understanding of that process can help keep young people safe.
